The Hidez compression hood with built-in ear coverage: calming pressure for horses that worry from the ears down.

The Hoods With Ears design extends the Hidez Compression Hood to cover the ears as well as the head and neck. It is made for ear-shy and noise-sensitive horses, and for any horse that settles better when the whole head is enclosed in gentle, consistent pressure, whether at the clippers, on the lorry or in a busy yard. Australian-designed and established in 2010, Hidez is veterinary endorsed and used in more than 30 countries.

Why it works

Graduated compression applies pressure that is highest at the extremities and decreases towards the heart, assisting venous and lymphatic return and helping the circulation flush metabolic waste such as lactic acid. In internal thermographic testing, Hidez compression recorded up to 30% less lactic-acid build-up. Around the head, ears and neck, the snug, even pressure produces a calming, swaddle-like effect that helps anxious, head-shy and ear-shy horses relax.

Key features

  • Integrated ear coverage for horses sensitive around the ears
  • Patented graduated compression, the only patented system of its kind
  • Calming, swaddle-like effect for anxious or head-shy horses
  • Useful for clipping, travel, stabling and other high-stress moments
  • Pairs with Hidez suits and socks for whole-horse coverage
  • Available in Black, Blue or Red

Sizing & fit

Sizes run by your horse's height, from 14 hands to 19.2 hands in half-hand steps. Because this is a compression garment, correct fit means correct pressure. A loose hood cannot deliver the gentle, consistent contact that produces the calming effect. Measure your horse and check the Hidez sizing guide before ordering.
